MAXCURE HOSPITALS CONDUCTS SHORT COURSE IN CARDIAC PACING
The Department of Cardiology and Electrophysiology at MaxCure Hospitals conducted “Short Course in Cardiac Pacing” over a period of 4 weeks from October 6 to November 13, 2016. This course, consisting of once a week four-hour sessions was meant to provide DM/DNB Cardiology trainees as well as fresh graduates with the essential concepts of cardiac pacemaker therapy required for practice.
The course director Dr Kumar Narayanan, Consultant Electrophysiologist at MaxCure Hospitals, was in-charge of the teaching sessions, which included didactic lectures, clinical problem-solving as well as pacemaker programming sessions in association with industry representatives from Biotronik. The course was well-attended by over 25 trainees and junior cardiologists from all over the city and concluded with distribution of course certificates on November 13. The course content and presentation was highly appreciated by all the attendees.
In response to the enthusiastic participation and feedback, plans are underway to conduct more such teaching courses in the future.
